Being winter wise cover

According to our 2015 poll around one-third of people in the UK aged 65 and over do not heat their home adequately some, most, or all of the time in winter because they worry about paying fuel bills.

The implications of this can be severe. Being cold isn’t just uncomfortable, it also increases the risk of flu, heart attacks or strokes.

Our guide Being winter wise has practical tips on staying warm and healthy in the winter months, including information on Winter Fuel Payments, so cold weather doesn’t have to be such a worry.

The advice in this guide applies to England only. A lot of it will still be relevant to you but we have a few suggestions if you are looking for advice that is specific to other parts of the UK.
