Get crafty for Independent Age
If you love making things, put your creativity to good use and make, paint, knit or sew for Independent Age. Host a crafts night to sell your items and raise money for older people.
Whatever you fancy making, it’s an excellent opportunity to fundraise and enjoy being creative. You could sell anything from gift hampers, bath products, jewellery, knitted clothing or blankets, or sew some accessories. To fundraise, you can sell your items to those you know and on social media. You could also look to sell them at any local craft fairs or markets.
If you’d like to share your skills, you could host a workshop online or in person to teach others how to make the crafts. Ask everyone who would like to attend to donate to Independent Age. Your guests could then look to sell anything they make to raise funds for Independent Age too.
Why support Independent Age?
The money you raise will support people like Veronica. Veronica is 82 years old and lives in the Southeast of England. She called our Helpline as she was struggling with rising electricity bills. Veronica was relying on extra jumpers when she was cold instead of turning on the heating, to keep down costs.
The Helpline helped Veronica to understand more about the money she was entitled to. Now, Veronica is receiving pension credit. This is a crucial top up for her income.
By fundraising for Independent Age, you will provide a support system for older people going through difficult times.
