Our campaigns

At Independent Age, we work with people like you to make the UK the best place in the world to grow older. Our supporters write letters to politicians and attend events across the country to help influence politicians to make change for the better.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been campaigning to ensure the voices of those in later life are heard by decision makers.

Our Home Truths blog series has been amplifying your voices around issues such as access to food, social care, funerals and the importance of saying goodbye, keeping mentally healthy and the work of community groups.

Independent Age is also working to to ensure that people are clear on what they are, and are not, being advised to do during the pandemic. With the support of our campaigners, we are challenging the unclear language and use of incorrect terms around COVID-19.

Find out how you can help clear up the COVID-19 guidance.

As a financial top-up to some of the pensioners most in need, Pension Credit helps to ensure that older people do not have to choose between eating or heating their home. We are calling on the Government to reform Pension Credit to make sure that everyone who is entitled to this money receives it.
