Challenge yourself to scale the highest peak in England and Wales
Take on the highest mountain in Wales on our Snowdon Night Hike on the summer solstice for Independent Age. Standing at the summit in the moonlight will be an unforgettable experience, as will watching the sunrise as you descend.
We follow the Llanberis Path, a moderate challenge for all trekkers and a gradual decent with good conditions underfoot, perfect for our ascent up to 1085 meters in the dark! The Snowdon Ascent feels very different overnight than during the day as your senses grow used to the darkness whilst you enjoy the silence and the remoteness of Snowdonia National Park and the brilliance of the night sky above.
Trekkers will meet at a hotel in Llanberis at 8pm on 20th June, enjoy a bite to eat and then head to climb the peak during the night. You will then enjoy the descend to the sun rise with a welcoming breakfast when you arrive back to the hotel!

Why Independent Age?
More than 1 million older people say they are often or always lonely. As well as feeling cut off from friends and family, it can mean that when difficulties arise, they feel they have no one to turn to.
Your support can make such a significant difference for an older person, because thanks to our supporters, we can provide regular visits and telephone calls from one of our caring volunteers. We can also help with worries they might be facing, whether they’re about finances, mobility, or other day-to-day issues, so they don’t have to cope with difficulties alone.
