Where can I download a sponsorship form?

Please download our sponsorship form from our website.

How do I send in money?

If you have an online fundraising page, such as Just Giving, donations made via your page will be automatically sent to the charity.

If you have collected cash/cheques firstly, count the cash and deposit it into your bank account. We advise you don’t send cash in the post. Instead, you can send the donations to us in one of the following ways:

- Donate via our website and give as much detail as possible as to the reason for your donation, how you raised the money and what the collection was for (e.g. Royal Parks 2021)

- Contact the Fundraising Team on 020 7605 4223 and we can help you make a transfer or send a cheque made out to 'Independent Age' and sent to the address above.  Please make sure your name and what the collection was for is clearly stated on the back of the cheque or in an accompanying letter.

How do I set up an online fundraising page for Independent Age?

Setting up a fundraising page online is an easy and takes just a few minutes. When registering through Enthuse you will have your own fundraising page set up through them. Once your page is set up, you'll be able to send your personalised link to friends, family and colleagues asking them to sponsor you.

To set up a new page, go to Justgiving. Click on the 'Start fundraising' button and follow the instructions to create an account or log in if you have an existing account.

You will then be able to create your fundraising page including the event that you are doing and a fundraising target that you are aiming for. Make your page personal - the more personal your page is, the better your fundraising, as it explains why you are taking on your challenge and that will motivate people to support you.

All donations and sponsorship raised on this page are sent directly to us so you don’t need to worry about anything but offline funds.

If you have any questions or want us to help you with your page, just give us a call on 020 7605 4229.

How do I publicise my event?

The more people who know about your event the better! By telling people about the amazing thing you are doing for Independent Age.

Talk about it online

There are lots of ways to promote your fundraising events online using social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. We're also happy to publicise community events on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Make a video and take photos

Why not put together a home video and post it on Youtube? It can be emotive, entertaining and can be of anything from a personal message to a diary of your planning. Posting snippets of video to Twitter and Facebook can be a fun way of keeping people up to date with your fundraising event!

Tell your local press

Make sure you contact your local press to let them know what you have planned. Local papers are always interested in hearing personal stories, get in touch

Make sure to let them know the time, date and location of your event, as they may be able to send a photographer or reporter along. If not, take the best quality photo you can of your event and to send to them.

Independent Age would be happy to help create a press release for you to share your connection to our charity and why you chose to fundraise for us.

Can I organise a collection for Independent Age?

Collections are a great way to support Independent Age and raise much needed funds, as well as getting out and meeting new people. There are different types of collections and you need to ensure that you are keeping it all legal so please contact the events team for further advice.  Email events@independentage.org or call 020 7605 4229.

Once you have obtained all your permissions and arranged a date, the charity can provide you with collecting tins or buckets, along with seals and the other awareness materials you need.
