Show Rita we're sorry.
Sponsor a Friend today.

Over 1 million older people like Rita say they feel lonely most of the time. As a society, we’ve let them down. But you can help put things right. You can give the precious gift of friendship now.

Sponsor a Friend

You can end someone’s loneliness right now

Let’s not let down older people any longer. Sponsor a Friend today.

If you’ve ever experienced loneliness, you’ll know how devastating it can be. But that’s how life is for so many older people across the UK. People like Rita can go for days on end without speaking to anyone. Thousands upon thousands of people feel invisible and ignored, and the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown have only made loneliness worse.

By sponsoring a friend, you can transform someone’s life, bringing much-needed friendship and support to a lonely older person. In return, we’ll send you regular updates to show you just what a life-changing difference you’re making.

It’s so nice to know that someone out there is thinking of me. Brian, 83

How your sponsorship will help

For just 33p a day, you can make a tremendous difference to an older person’s life, bringing them friendship and support.

  • Your donation will provide a caring volunteer to phone someone who feels forgotten by society
  • All our volunteers are trained to understand the issues older people face
  • Where possible, we match older people with volunteers who live close by and share similar interests
Sponsor a Friend

For £10 a month - that's just 33p a day - you can end loneliness for an older person by sponsoring a friend.

Sponsor a Friend

What happens next?

We will send you a welcome pack so you can read about the wonderful difference you’re making. After that, we’ll keep you up to date with emails and mailings so that you can hear directly from the older people you’re helping by sponsoring a friend.
