Take in the highlights of Reading
You will experience huge crowd support as you take in the highlights of the centre of Reading. You will also pass through the beautiful grounds of the University campus. The race culminates in a finish rarely found outside an Olympic stadium with over 15,000 people cheering you into the stadium and over the finish line.

Why run for Independent Age?
The money you raise will support people like Veronica. Veronica is 82 years old and lives in the Southeast of England. She called our Helpline as she was struggling with rising electricity bills. Veronica was relying on extra jumpers when she was cold instead of turning on the heating, to keep down costs.
The Helpline helped Veronica to understand more about the money she was entitled to. Now, Veronica is receiving pension credit. This is a crucial top up for her income.
By fundraising for Independent Age, you will provide a support system for older people going through difficult times.
How will we support you?
You’ll receive fantastic support from our friendly team from the moment you sign up until you cross that finish line.
We’ll provide you with:
• An Independent Age technical running vest to wear on race day. This will be sent out to you once you've raised £50 towards your target.
• A well-deserved certificate, totalling the amazing amount you raise for us
• Fundraising and training support from our dedicated Events team

I have my own place
If you already have your own place in the Reading Half Marathon, we’d love to have you on the team! You’ll receive all the same support as our charity place runners. You’ll have no registration fee or fundraising target, but we’ll help you raise as much as you can.
