Responding to the government’s loneliness strategy announcement, Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age and Chair of the Campaign to End Loneliness, said:

“Loneliness is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and we welcome the government's ambition to make us a more connected society where everyone can contribute their passion, skills and wisdom. Whilst government can drive that ambition with these practical first steps, we all have a part to play as individuals, organisations and communities.

“As a founder of the Campaign to End Loneliness nearly 10 years ago I see this as only the start of movement to ‘be more us’ - to reach out and connect more. We all have a stake in making that mission zing with energy and friendliness to build connected communities.”
