In response to the CQC’s report, Cracks in the PathwayJanet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age said: 

“Moving between care homes and hospitals can be a deeply unsettling and anxious time for anyone living with dementia. Unfortunately today’s report from the Care Quality Commission highlights that for far too many older people the experience is made worse when providers fail to work together. With 850,000 people predicted to be living with dementia just next year, we need to urgently fix a fragmented system that fails people when they are at their most vulnerable”.
