Let's get personal for free personal care
In response to Labour's announcement that it will introduce free personal care for older people if elected to power, Shelley Hopkinson, Public Affairs Manager at Independent Age, said:
"This commitment represents a significant step towards the fair, simple and effective social care system that all older people deserve. Independent Age has long advocated for free personal care and it is hugely encouraging to see the Labour Party join the 78% of adults in England who support this call.
"It is now vital that this proposal receives cross-party support. We look forward to working with all parties to deliver this change and ensure that older people get the care they need.”
