Can I register as part of a team?
Each participant must register individually using the online form so we have all the information we need. However if you are planning to take part in a team, please tick yes in answer to the question ‘Are you participating with another person or group?’ and let us know at the point of registration.
Do all members of the team have to raise the same fundraising amount?
Yes we need all team members to meet the minimum fundraising targets individually but don’t worry, we’re here to support you. Why not fundraise together, there’s lots of different ways to do it and you’ll be surprised how many of your family and friends will want to help. Our fundraising guide has lots of ideas or you can call our Events Team for more information.
What is JustGiving and how do I set up a page?
JustGiving is one of the most trusted platforms for online giving and is very simple to use. Log on to www.justgiving.com and follow the simple instruction to set up your fundraising page.
Once you've set up your page you can share it with friends, family and colleagues and they can make an online donation of their chosen amount, and leave you a message. It was also ask if their donation is eligible for Gift Aid.

How can I make sure I smash my fundraising target?
Taking on this challenge is an amazing opportunity to raise crucial funds for Independent Age whilst also accomplishing something for yourself. There’s lots of different ways to do it and you’ll be surprised how many of your family and friends will want to help. Our fundraising guide has lots of ideas or you can call our Events Team for more support.
How would you describe the route?
This is an undulating route on good paths with some fairly demanding ascents and descents taking in beautiful views of the Cotswold’s Way. Both hikes on Day 1 and 2 are circular, starting and finishing at Postlip Hall Farm in the Cotswolds.
How long will it take to hike the route?
Of course it will depend on how quickly you walk, and remember this isn’t a race, we want you to enjoy the views and the company! To give you a rough idea we’d expect day one to take 4-6 hours and day two around 2-4 hours.
How do I get there?
The address is Postlip Hall Farm, Winchcombe, GL54 5AQ. Please follow signs for the event as your satnav may not be entirely accurate. Parking is available on site.
We recommend travelling by car, however if you plan to use public transport the nearest train station to Postlip Hall Farm is Cheltenham Spa. There are taxis available from Cheltenham Spa station to the main event site.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately due to the nature of both the venue and the land we use we are unable to accommodate dogs at this event.
Are refreshments provided?
Absolutely! On Day 1 you will be provided with a packed lunch and hot dinner. On Day 2 you will be provided with hot breakfast and a packed lunch. On both days there will be snacks, hot and cold drinks and water available at regular intervals. We would also recommend you bring any additional snacks or drinks you might like for while you are walking. A payable bar will be available on the evening of Day 1.
What is the food like?
There will be a range of options including vegetarian and vegan and other dietary requirements. You will be asked if you have any dietary requirements and we will pass on your requests to the event organisers.
Do you organise accommodation?
If you are taking part in the 2 day challenge we provide fully supported overnight camping at our event site at Postlip Hall Farm. If you do not want to camp or are only planning to hike for 1 day but would like to stay in the area for the weekend, there are lots of local B&Bs and hotels. Just search online around postcode GL54 5AQ.
What is the campsite like?
The campsite and entertainment area are situated at Postlip Hall Farm in the beautiful Cotswolds. Each participant will be allocated their own two-man tent and comfortable roll matt, you need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. The campsite is fully staffed at all times with toilets and hot showers available. The entertainment area consists of a staffed bar in the marquee, comfortable seating area, fire pits and music.
How fit do I need to be?
The challenge is designed to be an enjoyable hike in the countryside and requires an average level of fitness. We advise participants who are not regular hikers to train before-hand with regular walks including some hill walking if possible.
Do I need to know how to read a map?
You will be following a signposted route so no need to be an expert map reader but do keep an eye out for the directional arrows and other signage on the route.
