Heléna Herklots has a wealth of experience and expertise on ageing, older people and carers. From 2018 – 2024 she was the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, an independent, statutory role with the remit to protect and promote the rights of older people in Wales. Heléna has led and contributed to a number of UK Government advisory groups covering topics including care and support, housing, dementia, carers, and healthy ageing. She was also a member of the Church of England Archbishops’ Commission on Reimagining Care.

In 2017 Heléna was awarded a CBE for services to carers and in 2022 was recognised as one of the ‘Healthy Ageing 50’ - a UN Decade of Healthy Ageing initiative to honour fifty leaders working to transform the world to be a better place to grow older.
