Great Scottish Run
2023

With a city centre start and finish, the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a celebration of everything that makes Glasgow truly great: inspiring urban architecture, green spaces, history, music, strength, spirit and, of course, great people, personality and humour. 

Thousands of runners take part each year to challenge themselves and to raise money for good causes. And Scotland’s friendliest city always delivers on the support front too, with crowds of locals turning out each year to cheer and high-five from beginning to end. Plus there’s medals, finisher t-shirts and bragging rights for all!

The money you raise will support people like Veronica. Veronica is 82 years old and lives in the Southeast of England. She called our Helpline as she was struggling with rising electricity bills. Veronica was relying on extra jumpers when she was cold instead of turning on the heating, to keep down costs.

The Helpline helped Veronica to understand more about the money she was entitled to. Now, Veronica is receiving pension credit. This is a crucial top up for her income.

By fundraising for Independent Age, you will provide a support system for older people going through difficult times.

You’ll receive fantastic support from our friendly team from the moment you sign up until you cross that finish line.

We’ll provide you with:

• A free Independent Age technical running vest to wear on race day

• A well-deserved certificate, totalling the amazing amount you raise for us

• Fundraising and training support from our dedicated Events team

• Cheer points and support along the route

If you already have your own place in the Great Scottish Run, we’d love to have you on the team! You’ll receive all the same support as our charity place runners. You’ll have no registration fee or fundraising target, but we’ll help you raise as much as you can.
