Join us for another spectacular running celebration in the heart of Manchester on Sunday 21 May 2023, as we celebrate 20 years of the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run.

The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is the city’s original and best-loved running event – over 99% of runners say they’d recommend it to a friend. And in true Mancunian style, it’s a party from start to finish, with a high-energy soundtrack, live music and entertainment zones at every turn – plus, some of the loudest and most enthusiastic local support we’ve seen anywhere in the UK.

The money you raise will support people like Veronica. Veronica is 82 years old and lives in the Southeast of England. She called our Helpline as she was struggling with rising electricity bills. Veronica was relying on extra jumpers when she was cold instead of turning on the heating, to keep down costs.

The Helpline helped Veronica to understand more about the money she was entitled to. Now, Veronica is receiving pension credit. This is a crucial top up for her income.

By fundraising for Independent Age, you will provide a support system for older people going through difficult times.

You’ll receive fantastic support from our friendly team from the moment you sign up until you cross that finish line.

We’ll provide you with:

• A free Independent Age technical running vest to wear on race day

• A well-deserved certificate, totalling the amazing amount you raise for us

• Fundraising and training support from our dedicated Events team

• Cheer points and support along the route

If you already have your own place in the Great Manchester Run, we’d love to have you on the team! You’ll receive all the same support as our charity place runners. You’ll have no registration fee or fundraising target, but we’ll help you raise as much as you can.
