Am I eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare?

NHS continuing healthcare is for people with complex health and care needs. If you qualify, the NHS may pay for all your care costs and care home fees. To be eligible, your main need for care will have to be health-related.

It can be difficult to qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare but if you think you might be eligible it’s worth looking into. There is a two-stage assessment process, which starts with an initial screening by a health or social care professional. This will decide whether or not you're likely to qualify for NHS continuing healthcare. You may then be referred for a full assessment.
