Join one of our free webinars for a deep dive into our information guides. Led by an expert adviser, we’ll look at topics including money, social care and scams, with the opportunity to ask questions. The webinars are suitable for those aged over 65, as well as family, friends, carers or anyone supporting an older person.

Home Safety
Thursday 27 November

The home is the most common location for an accident to happen. In this webinar, Lorna from our Advice team will talk through our Home Safety guide. She will look at how to spot hazards in your home, and ways to prevent accidents, like falls, fires or spills.
Winterwise

Winter may make it more challenging for us to stay well. As the days get shorter and colder, it’s normal to go out less. We’re all more likely to catch a cold or flu, and generally feel a bit down. This can be made even more challenging with the cost of living. But, by thinking ahead and planning, we can take care of ourselves and help each other in the coming months. This webinar will look at how to stay warm, safe and well this winter.

What is a webinar and how do they work?
Webinars are online video calls that lots of people can join at the same time. Our team will give a presentation on a certain topic, and you will be able to ask questions.
Sign up to our mailing list and we’ll keep you updated about all our upcoming groups. You then choose which groups you’re interested in joining that month and either sign up online, or call in on the day. If you need some support doing this, call our Helpline team for free on 0800 319 6789 or email telephone.services@independentage.org.
I’m not online – how can I join your webinar?
You can still join our webinar, even if you can’t get online.
If you're joining by phone, you’ll need to dial yourself into the session and enter a code. To join a Good to Know session by phone, please follow the instructions below.
- Call 020 3321 5200 a few minutes before the session start time.
- You’ll be asked to enter a unique code, which you’ll find under the session description on the Good to Know programme.
- If you don’t join immediately, please bear with us as it might take a few minutes to admit everyone.
How much do the groups cost?
Our groups are free to join. If you are joining over the phone, you may want to check with your telephone supplier about how many free minutes you get with your mobile or landline package.
What if I have a question before signing up?

How will I record information from the webinar?
There’s no need to take notes. After each group, we send out a follow-up letter with details of what we discussed during the webinar and how to get more information or support. What kind of topics are covered?
We cover topics like money, wellbeing, social care and scams. Our webinars are based on our guides and help to keep you alert and knowledgeable about your finances and safety.
