Why not write, paint, sing or dance?
The King Lear Prize is an arts competition for over-70s isolating at home, with the aim of showcasing new talent across writing, poetry, drama or music. Please share this with anyone you think would like to enter. You can also find more information on the King Lear Prizes website.

Advice tailored for you
Many of you asked for more advice on how you can get food while self-isolating. We have updated our website with the latest information on food deliveries, and you can call our helpline on 0800 319 6789 if you need further advice

Making your voices heard
From our survey on the impact of COVID-19, 52% of you highlighted the problems you’ve faced accessing food and household goods. We are working in partnership with other charities to raise your issues directly with the Government and the supermarkets themselves, to ensure they put measures in place to support people in later life to get what they need at this time.

My home truths
We are excited about the upcoming launch of our #HomeTruths series which will share the COVID-19 experience from the point of view of older people across the UK. You can read the first blog on our website, where Margaret shares her thoughts on getting the shopping she needs. Please share the blog to make sure the voices of older people are heard at this worrying time.

Lastly, I know that Easter with social distancing measures in place will be a struggle for everyone, but if you can use this time to phone neighbours, friends and family who you think might be lonely, it could make a big difference at a difficult time.

Wishing you all the best,
