Assessing Volunteer - Your Role

This page outlines your roles, responsibilities and boundaries as an assessing volunteer. It also provides your role specific training to give you the opportunity to refresh your memory when needed.

Listen

Assessing Volunteer Role Description (PDF)

As an Assessing Volunteer you will make a real difference to the lives of older people by assessing the general circumstances of those who have been identified as potentially benefitting from Independent Age support.

Assessing Volunteer Boundaries (PDF)

These are the volunteering role boundaries we have put in place based on experience of what works well to develop a happy and fulfilling volunteering relationship. The boundaries provide a framework for everyone to understand what is and isn’t included in the volunteering role and to protect the volunteer from being asked to do something outside their role.

Assessing Volunteer Training (PDF)

Here is the copy of your role specific training to refresh your memory as you carry out the role. It includes information on common issues affecting older people and those that arise in volunteering, understanding your role further as an Assessing Volunteer and finally going through the recording and reporting duties that are involved with the role. Please refer to the process, forms and templates section on the right hand-side of this page for supporting documents for your role and training.
