Who is the training for and what will I learn?
This 45-minute online course (via Teams) aims to give frontline workers an overview of what happens to welfare benefits when someone reaches State Pension age.
This course is aimed at non-welfare benefits advice roles.
By the end of the session, you should be able to:
- Know when someone is going to reach State Pension age
- Understand how someone claims their State Pension
- Know which welfare benefits might stop when someone reaches State Pension age
- Identify which welfare benefits could continue when someone reaches State Pension age
- Recognise which welfare benefits someone might be able to start getting when they reach State Pension age
- Know when to signpost to specialist advice.
This training is relevant to those supporting older people in England, Scotland and Wales.
