Andy has led the Policy and Campaigns team at Independent Age for four years and before then worked in a range of policy, communications and research roles for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), Age UK and Demos (a cross-party think tank).
He has a long-standing interest in social policy has uses this to campaign for and lobby on behalf of disabled and older adults.
His goal is to make an impact in public policy, using his experience of working in the not-for-profit sector to advance the interests of many of the millions of the UK's population who want to - but don't always - have their voice heard in Westminster and Whitehall.
An experienced media spokesperson, he has appeared on BBC, ITV and Sky News. He is the author and editor of dozens of policy and research reports, including mostly recently, reports on Brexit and the social care workforce; and on variation in care home quality.
